    I believe that a good person depends on who's judging. I know people who love me and think I'm an excellent individual, and unfortunately there are people who believe I'm a piece of crap, a low life, and the scum of the earth. While I don't agree with the latter, I can understand how I can be viewed as either.

    I am influenced by Socrates and Aristotle in my idea of what a good person is.

    - Someone who seeks the truth, denying their own beliefs or opinions until properly compared to others. So many people around me are married to their own beliefs (often spoon-fed to them by their parents) before they have even heard other options.

    - Someone who shows open concern for others, even willing to postpone some of their own happiness in order to benefit others.

    - Someone who believes in the necessity of ethics and morality.

    - Unconditional love.

    ^ wedekit, a question for you, if you won't mind? Do you believe that unconditional love is actually possible?
    You gave me hyacinths first a year ago;
    They called me the hyacinth girl.
    Yet when we came back, late, from the Hyacinth garden,
    Your arms full, and your hair wet, I could not
    Speak, and my eyes failed, I was neither
    Living nor dead, and I knew nothing,
    Looking into the heart of light, the silence.

    Don't pop that romantic love-bubble, you nasty elf! *shoo!*

    I wonder how people's descriptions of a good person would change if they were cued to imagine a male or a female good person before responding. hmmm

    I agree with all of what you said except "unconditional love." That's really risky and can erode your own morality/ethics. In the general, human sense, I can agree with all being "brothers under the skin" but I don't think loving, idividually, a serial killer, mass murderer or terrorist or any other kind of socio or psychopath is healthy. Holding onto who you are is difficult usually and getting close to some types is best left to professionals trained in maintaining themselves in the face of anti-social mindsets and they, definitely, place "conditions" on them.
