I try to live by these, but don't always succeed.

    1. Avoid death and discomfort.

    2. There is always something worth learning that I don't know yet, and every experience has something new to teach me.

    3. Resist what you consider arbitrary/unacceptable by protest, but observe the rules while they exist.

    4. Avoid being disliked by the majority of people.

    5. Never unconditionally accept/trust people, but do so to the necessary degree.

    6. Preserve ideas and information about them as accurately as possible, prevent them from being lost.

    7. Try to understand and explain why you disagree with someone rather than dismissing them as wrong.

    8. Avoid being arbitrary/unacceptable.

    9. Try to be as thorough as reasonably possible in understanding/explaining something, rather than skimming and assuming you understand the "gist" without all the information.

    10. Avoid behaving out of cruelty, vengeance, anger, despair, desire, or hatred.

    11. Always forgive yourself for your mistakes and move on.

    12. Try not to become so dependent on any particular people or things that it would be difficult for you to move on with your life if you didn't have them.

    Don't be a dick.

From that one principle it all trickles down nicely into a cohesive whole.

To be the "me" that God created me to be.

To grow in favor with God and man.

To do Christ's commandments because I love Him.

These include most notably for me:

To love the Lord with all my heart, with all my understanding and with all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself.

To do unto others as I would have them do unto me

To forgive others (totally selfish motive).

    To encourage others.

To comfort others with the comfort I have received.

To give to those in need.

To display love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

To respect my husband and other authorities.

To be ready to give answer for the hope that lies within me.

    To defend the faith.

    -Freedom at any cost
-Every man/woman is responsible for their actions
    -Thought without restraint or limitations
    -Encourage others to think freely

"I lost my number, can I have yours?" Whoops, wrong thread.

-Don't hurt those close to you, they're all you have
    -Learn from mistakes

ehh, that's what I have off the top of my head.

    • You're stuck with yourself. Might as well make the best of it.
    • Try to be as nice as possible.
    • But don't put up with people treating you bad.
    • Stick by your friends and loved ones.
    • Make the best of things. You can always find something good if you look hard enough.
    • Do what needs to be done in order to make things work.
    • Try to have a nice time.
    • What goes around comes around.

You might say my driving principles aren't very driven.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    1) Honesty
    2) Loyalty
    3) Honor
    4) The right to pursue revenge if any of the above are broken.
    5) Mercy for those who deserve it, not just out of sympathy.
    6) Justice for those who violate anothers freedom.
    7) And most importantly Friendship, and the companionship of any who would follow me in the pursuit of all the above.

    Here are some of mine:

    • Take responsibility for your actions.
    • Recognize how your choices impact others.
    • Practice "unreasonable forgiveness" because screwing up is a constant. <--This notion is a driving principle, but one that I find difficult to uphold.
    • Be honest and tactful--but honesty should come first should the two conflict.
    • Recognize and affirm the potential of others (and self).
    • Be gentle and kind.
    • Allow people to make their own mistakes. <--another driving principle that is hard to uphold.

I'm sure I have more. That's just what I've got right now.

Main: Retain flexibility while staying cohesive. Have fun with contradictions.
    Secondary: Forgive.
Secondary: Be honest and nice, but honesty comes first.
    Secondary: Know first, judge second.
    Not really.
