Went on the best holiday recently, though many people around me wouldn't agree. I solo walked a 1200km Buddhist pilgrimage route around Shikoku Island in Japan. All that time walking..me and my thoughts, feelings, imagination, replaying memories of my past as I moved through an ever changing landscape...yes I interacted with the locals and others along the way, but the journey was very personal, and hard physically, mentally and emotionally. I lost weight, but more so I lost a lot of emotional and mental baggage...everyday like a washing machine of the mind. I didn't want to take a break only to return temporarily refreshed to face all the same old stuff that I'd left behind...I wasn't disappointed.
