Can a human life be weighed objectively?

Not like an object can be weighed, but clearly some lives are worth more than others. To frame this in terms of the health care debate, who is more deserving of the world's greatest hand surgeon? The world's greatest pianist or a bum?

Anyone who tries to torture or kill me or my friends' life is going down in my estimations, aways down, real quick.

That's not objectivity, that's mass subjectivity.

Objective would be: 1 human life = 1 human life.

Consensus dictates reality?

You're forgetting the context and you're confusing two notions of objectivity. There is a hard science objectivity (actually pure mathematics more than anything) which is born in thought and there's the other bound by human perception. This objectivity doesn't exist and it's a phantom. In the realm of humans, the closest you're gonna get to objectivity is a total/complete consensus. (think totalitarianism and utopias)

True/ultimate objectivity in the context of human perception, especially in a subjective context as human life, is a phantom. Anyone saying that these perceptions can be seen objectively is either trying to sell you something or trying to use you.

Also, just because it's objective, doesn't mean it's reality. Think Newton vs Einstein vs Heisenberg.

The only objective way you can measure human life, is to literally weigh a human on a scale.

Morals, worth, and value are always relative. Humans made up those concepts, they didn't make us.
