Hmm, interesting. I already knew I was an Epicurean/Utilitarian and I agree with Sartre being a high rating, but I didn't expect him to be the top. I expected higher Stoic and Hume ratings. I do not agree with Nietzsche, Rand, or Aquinas. I go back and forth about Kant. Spinoza is ok.

...how is it possible that I get Kant AND Rand as my top two right next to each other? I didn't think that was possible.

It only would have been better if you got Rand and Kierkegaard together, but it does not appear that Kierkegaard is available in this test.

Also, I don't like it when they just throw out a school rather than a particular philosopher. So what if a good representative philosopher is less well known? All the better, it gives the test taker some interesting further readings. So, for instance, why not Protagoras instead of just sophism? If his work is scarce it still functions just as well since no one could look him up without being lead to sophism as a subject, anyhow.

Poor Nietzsche.

The socialism of fools? And he didn't even like socialism, so that's pretty damning. Properly understood, he's less a proto-fascist than a proto-Rand. There's nothing individualistic or egoistic about fascism.

(I'm more of a utilitarian consequentialist, it should be noted. I'm more opposed philosophically to intentionalist morality than egoism, though. Sometimes what is truly good or beneficial for someone also benefits others, and what's wrong with that? )
