    Get messy.
    Laugh at yourself.
    Pain is only temporary.
Be grateful for the things you have been given in life, and hungry for things still to earn.
Remember everyone you meet is fighting a bigger battle than their faces will show you.
    Treat others with dignity, always.
Remember that your possibilities and opportunities are infinite and waiting for you to have the insanity/courage to reach/fight for them.

Something I've learned recently, which I'm sure the other wise members of the boards already knew:

Freedom is incredible. It can also be incredibly lonely sometimes, but it's worth it.

    Best of luck!

If you are ever at the mercy of psychopaths or giant flesh eating mutant off spring of atomic testing grounds and you get the drop on them make sure they are totally and utterly dead because otherwise they will come back in sequels and kill you or someone else.

I've learned that "agreeance" is a pretty awful butchery of the English language, but...I guess that's just me.
If you could be anything you want, I bet you'd be disappointed--am I right?

Men are not DYI projects. Make sure you like a guy as is before you become committed to him and that he shares your basic life goals, values, ideas about gender rolls, and the day-to-day running of things and anything else that's really important to you as much as possible.

Men generally change a little for the worse after the honeymoon period wears off because they feel they have achieved their goal and can relax a little, which is understandable and not a big deal as long as you are kind of expecting it.

I'm assuming you're straight, btw. If you aren't, disregard.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
