Okay. I can understand having something for pornography addiction, but for just plain pornography, whut? I can imagine someone having problems dealing with their homosexuality and acceptance of that, particularly by others, but wait a second, these two things are right next to adultery? This IS a crisis hotline for college students, right? How many 4-year degree-seeking full time college students do you know who are married, anyway?

Also, God advocated drunkenness. See Purim for details.

I love how it cites "former Liberal" like some kind of cult xD

Alright, so it looks like they were still prohibiting blacks from enrolling as recently as the mid 1970s. And it wasn't until 2000 that they ended the interracial dating ban, because George Bush became supportive of the organization and drew criticism for that.

So basically, they're a culturally regressive institution. It's Protestant fundamentalist.

OK, there are as many varieties of Christianity as there are flavours of ice cream so lets not get bigoted and close minded so far as Christianity itself goes.

Also, what if they'd been saying exactly the opposite? That's much more acceptable isnt it? Wait, isnt that conformist too? What if you have non-conformist opinions about homosexuality or pornography?

What's that? You're a bigot, homophobe, prude, repressed etc. Arent those all words aimed at encouraging conformity?

    Think deeper.

Lark, you're an idiot. Nobody here is talking about conformiing or nonconforming. We're (at least I was) talking about people forcing their beliefs on others. Find another thread to troll on, this one's mine.

OK, I've never found myself in the position of defending Bob Jones University, but I do have to laugh at the idea that this is somehow promoting "conformists." Did you grow up in the town from Footloose? Is the Church Lady your next door neighbor? In what universe is American culture encouraging people to adhere to the values espoused at Bob Jones and only a band of merry secular rebels fighting the good battle to take pornography mainstream?

    Oh, I forgot about that.
It was a joke, Ruthie. You take things too seriously.

Damn, I thought my pop-culture references to '80s comedy was kinda witty.

Bullshit or not bullshit? I'd like to hear people's opinions.

Here's mine as well as some quotes from the site:

^This was under "Crisis Counseling". So now pornography's a crisis. Good to know.

Let's teach the students both sides! The christian's side and the conservative's side! Wait...what's a dem-o-craat?

    Don't dance, people - it's a sin!
Also, they didn't allow interracial dating until the year of our Lord 2000. I call (semi bullshit) because the main tenants of their university are founded on biblical truth, but they add and take away. I can't find anywhere in my bible where dancing or drinking alcohol are prohibited. The other necessary precursor in determining bullshit or not-bullshit is whether you accept Christian doctrine. If you don't...I don't think Bob Jones is going to convince you otherwise.

I refuse to read this, as I dont read posts by people without avatars.

Someone tell me what it says?
