Is it ethical to tell a student's parent that you think he/she has ADD or some other type of learning hindrance?
A teacher's duty is to a help a child learn by whatever means are reasonably possible, and so I think it's not only ethical but a responsibility. Sometimes teachers are wrong about these things, but harm is seldom done in those cases. A simple visit to a doctor is usually enough to clear things up. And when a teacher is right, she opens up entire avenues for personal growth that the child would not otherwise have access to.
