Okay, let me bring us back to the "normal world" a little bit after that last sojourn.

To paraphrase the Buddha: "Don't believe something because it is written down somewhere, don't believe something because I said it, believe something because you tried it for yourself and saw that it is so."

Whatever "out there" stuff might be found in Buddhism and other traditions, the idea is always that at the end of the day, if you wanted to and put forth the required effort/training, you could "investigate" these things for yourself and see if what is said/written is actually so or not.
