What the hell are you talking about? I just responded to the title of the thread. What makes you think I care at all about true atheists? from an epistemological point of view, they're not half as interesting/puzzling as theists.

I guess it's that we're supposed to have more respect for god-believers than pink-unicorn believers because the former build their lives around the unprovable belief (and are therefore "interesting") and the latter do not (usually).

    Again, you're very sly.
Why do you want us to focus on the dreaded ontological argument? I thought the matter was definitely settled since Kant, so why?

(anyway, that's a very old, rusty and dusty argument. Outside theistic countries [USA for instance: they are an anomaly within the West], it's very outdated)

It's not a question of epistemology, and I think you know it.

That's what you are saying by defining atheism as a positive assertion. I'm saying that you can not have a belief by not having a belief, thus leading to... not having a belief, which is also a part of the definition (ie: 'without').

No, I'm not. Atheism is the belief that one is without god. Please see etymological breakdown provided earlier.

Do you think that the lack of faith is a faith in itself?

Do you think that the absence of a thing is comparable to the presence of it?

    Non A = A?

    That's an epistemological question.

When you're dealing with metaphysical entities, yes.
