I agree with that blog.. To add to that? I think people tend to respect those who are similar to them in ways of speech, act, conduct, and/or lifestyle.
I think with respect, there is a level of discernment.. We tend to judge those who are like us more favorably. When there is a deeper level of understanding, then I also think respect can develop.
