Mine lines up well. I am SAI on Holland and Idealist, then Synthesist, then Analyst on the InQ. Conventional is my lowest.

Okay. But remember, any score above 59 on the InQ is your thinking style in that system. But it is cool how they line up.

Oh, you know what, I'll have to retake it. I didn't pay attention to the exact numbers. I'll edit this to report the numbers when I get them again.

Mal12345 -

Funny, when I retook it, I got 65 Idealist and 60 Analyst. I was significantly lower on Synthesist this time for some reason. In any case, I seem to be a pretty clear mix of helper/scientist/artist, and that seems well reflected in my general interests and occupational pursuits.

I did find it interesting that I scored fairly high on Pragmatic in the Thinking Styles, but my relative score for that was much lower in the RIASEC, where I tend to score higher in Realistic. I tend to lump whatever that hands-on, take-charge impulse is in my own mind as one thing, and it's interesting to me to see that broken up and measured in different ways.

The Holland test said IAS, and listed a couple dozen career suggestions that, with the exception of psychologist, are diametrically opposed to anything I'd want to do with my life. I enjoy the humanities, not things like (gags for a second) meteorology, dentistry, or geography. Part of the problem is that their questions for Artistic, in particular, are too specific to certain subcategories of that career interest. Someone who is very into art may not enjoy doing every single kind of art there is.

The thinking styles test said I was a Pragmatist, Realist, Synthesist-Idealist, Analyst, which doesn't seem very true to me at all. I would, for one thing, bump Idealist up a notch or two.

faster system of thinking styles known as The Holland Code.
Yeah. At least, the InQ test was a comparatively huge pain in the ass.

And you didn't even score over 59 on it. Over 59 would indicate your type. The InQ has a rule for those who score below 60 on every scale.

wait... I'm NOT going for another enterprising career! I've had enough of dealing with humanity for a lifetime :thelook:

Damn. So I'm almost something, but I'm not quite something.

I got test results for a career assessment inventory weeks ago, and it looks like they use the Holland code. I got AIC there, too.

This webpage states that Enterprising-Investigative (EI or IE), Realistic-Social (RS or SR), and Conventional-Artistic (CA or AC) are all inconsistent patterns. I haven't found details about the CA/AC pattern. Of course.

Then there's this: About the Strong Interest Inventory: Artistic Types and Job Frequency. It sounds dire, all that competition for a few jobs with low pay.

My scores, FWIW:

Realistic: 6 *lowest
Investigative: 9
Artistic: 6 *lowest
Social: 11 *highest
Enterprising: 6 *lowest
Conventional: 8

So, SIC. (Btw, my actual career, editor, is not on the list. But it works for me.)
