Balanced wings? That means I should be able to fly, right?

No. I'm sticking with the notion that I am a type 1. But the whole thing is pretty close. 5 or 6 are my second closest types, and they are listed as first and third, while my actual type is listed as second. Also, all the rest of the rankings pretty much make sense to me. You could argue I'm less of a 7 than an 8, or some things like that, but they're all pretty small changes.

After all these years, I've developed the impression that there's something about the enneagram type profiles, or the questions asked in tests, or some combination therein, that funnels people toward being 4s or 5s. I think type 4 and 5 are hugely over assigned in the enneagram.

I've read that 4, 5 and 6 are all described a lot of the time as being more unhealthy/neurotic than the other types. This bias would result in people who are neurotic testing as these types.

Also, if this is based on an internet population, it could that these types, correlating with INxx, are simply more prevalent online.

I think their may actually be a positive self-identifying labels going on to. It's a really rough idea, but I'm getting to think that basically, in this culture, claiming to be intelligent and have intellectual opinions, and emphasizing your uniqueness as an individual and your subjective experience, are the most normal, positive things to say about yourself, and those traits will steer you toward 5 or 4.

Maybe it's because I was raised to do that and feel ok with doing it, (and in ironic irony) I actually can't stand it when I find myself doing that, and have trained myself to not do it cause I see it as a flaw. I would agree though most individuals in my generation are comfortable and enjoy doing such things. Hard to say how common or uncommon they are though since I definitely attract and repel different E types.
