After visiting Sweden, I always felt it might just be an even better place to live than Norway, for me :D

Most like Morocco.
Least like Kazakhstan.

I was thinking of what may not be taught or encouraged elsewhere in a community, so that the parents should take the lead in those areas. I also do not think certain things are really "taught", such as imagination. From working with kids, I see the naturally unimaginative get distressed if you push that on them, much as the more imaginative ones feel confined with too much structure. I think adapting for needs of individual children is best.

RESPONSIBILITY
TOLERANCE
INDEPENDENCE

I knew I'd get Sweden. Maybe I should visit there sometime.

My least similar was Iraq.

Mostly because my parents had the exact opposite values while raising me, and look at how I turned out :p

Honestly, I put them in that order because I believe my biggest responsibility when I have children will be to assure that they are 1) emotionally healthy and 2) able to survive and live well. Children aren't a social justice project; they're the people who should be most important to us. And I absolutely don't want my children to grow up being obedient or always putting their needs last.

Well I appreciate the honesty. It is good to have it on record.

Good. By the way, my original post quote was a disguised compliment. I tend to put political views aside when discussing parenting, and in that sense, I think we have a lot in common.

Bear in mind, I base this EXCLUSIVELY on parenting cats, not kids. As I'll never raise the latter, I have no values to apply to human offspring.

Retook it after some reflection.

EDIT:

... And, I took it again. But Germany's still first and Yemen's still last. The other countries changed, however. Along with the hierarchy of what I value.

I took it again and got Germany. Iraq was last both times, I believe. Basically I sorted mine into tiers: sense of self, survival, caring for others, and the final tier which I affectionately named "authoritarian bullshit."
