This is a cool test I found on PerC. Its a long one though, so you have been warned. It basically tests what you want to do in life and ranks that with how you prefer your working conditions (which are scattered throughout the test). Don't freak out if instantly you get a strange career at the beginning (it gave me veterinarian at the very beginning, hell no). You do have to register, but it isn't a long process and I don't think they spam.

This was fun, and I gotta hand it to it. Overall it's damn accurate. It got my profession of choice as my top pick. However, I really dislike children. Like, no make them go away. I even answered questions as such, and it still gave me options to teach children. That said... kids love me and when I have done outreach I have been approach by several teachers saying I'd be great at teaching kids. Maybe it picked up on that? Who knows. Also props it picked up that I am a chemist (organic).

So yeah, pretty darn accurate. I mean, once I am done with my PhD my plan is to become a teaching professor, so it completely nailed it. I am also currently a graduate teaching assistant, and a chemist .

Similar to Hard and teaching children, I loathe journalistic work, but nonetheless have done it and did bring skill to it. I just was exhausted by using that skill in that particular way, so being impelled to go further in the field was like being told to eat healthy but yucky-tasting food: no thank you; there are other ways to get B vitamins. The problem with journalism is that the priorities of its quality control system have nothing to do with where the power of written work actually lies. It zeroes in on the lines while blowing off what is between them.

The test was insightful on picking up religion and spirituality. I do not have a practice I call my own. My incompatibility with most people in this arena glares. The psychological territory between the people, however, is native. This is in the same way regardless of what faith or sect I am interacting with, and I have immersed in several. Parts of my core personality that are of dubious worth in all other areas of life become influential quickly in spiritual territory (I do not know how I feel about that or if that capacity should even be used or talked about at all). I will never take up a profession in this field, but kudos for the test for picking out one of the few areas where my dominant functions are actively encouraged.
