I like this one. It's really hard to decide:

Excitement or Intensity

Affection or Intimacy

I'm having trouble because I have values I treasure in myself and values I treasure in others. I like the brooding type but I am not that type so I don't value that in myself but I value it in others. Ahh!

Ok this one is impossible to decide!

Sexuality or Brilliance

I'm mostly voting for a romantic partner.

Yeah this is what I'm wondering myself...what I value absolutely for myself...or for what I find most attractive in a man? Because I find consistency and organization very attractive in a man.

I don't necessarily find it very realistic for myself, though.

I did some combination of both, i.e. qualities I want and need in my life whether I provide them myself or rely on someone else for them.

Yeah I'm gonna do that when I pick twenty. I also need to put "intimacy" in there, I just noticed that was on yours. THERE ARE SO MANY WORDS.

Phew! Here it is:

3. Respect (15 votes)
4. Fairness (15 votes)
5. Trustworthiness (15 votes)
6. Justice (15 votes)

8. Loyalty (11 votes)
9. Courtesy (11 votes)
10. Correctness (9 votes)
11. Honesty (8 votes)
12. Composure (8 votes)

17. Kindness (4 votes)
18. Open-mindedness (3 votes)

Edit: Interesting, how many people put "love". I never thought of love as a value, because I thought of values as things you had to stick to. That implies willpower, and love defies willpower.

I dislike having to narrow my options so much; first part I voted for well over 70 some values. Yes 70 some, maybe more. However, I didn't feel like answering a million either/or value desicions, so I went with my gut and selected my top ten:

1. Imagination (9 votes)
2. Dreaming (8 votes)
3. Creativity (7 votes)
4. Pleasure (5 votes)
5. Open-mindedness (5 votes)
6. Compassion (4 votes)
7. Comfort (3 votes)
8. Perceptiveness (3 votes)
9. Reason (1 votes)
10. Mellowness (0 votes)

I extended the meaning of "values" to include any and every abstraction that I respect, admire, want, or need. I would certainly list preserving my ability and willingness to love and be loved as a very important value though.

I did take transcendence out the second time round for the reason you stated. I put it in the first time as the ultimate benchmark against which everything else would have to take second place but I don't suppose that has much meaning in the rankings.

I like your list, by the way. I think my best friend's would look quite similar.

Thanks! :) My first impression, looking at it, was that it looked like someone's WWII-vet grandfather's list, which defies my age, gender, and background, though it doesn't defy my MBTI or Enneagram at all.

What type is your best friend?
