Works well with my current avatar and that ghastly video Oaky made featuring it.

I've seen one person get "acute" and nobody else on either forum I've seen this test. What does that mean? There's merging, distant, companionate, and acute.

Nevermind. It means high emotionality and low attachment. Sounds like Asperger's Syndrome or autism. Or someone emo who has been hurt terribly and shut down.

It's between Distant and Merging, each of which seems to make more sense cohesively within one individual.

Yes, the titles are excellent.... except mine is more typical.

+Attent/Self/-Attach/-Emo/-<3/Broad/Secure

You scored 67% Attention-desiring, 54% Other-directedness, 39% Attachment-desiring, 46% Emotionality, 36% Romance-seeking, 56% Range, and 65% Secureness.

Your Bonding Quadrant: Distant

Summary: You crave regular acknowledgment and recognition from others. Although you have many acquaintances, you don't get too close, and you don't put much effort into keeping particular people in your life. Interpersonal relationships are more about shared interests than shared emotions for you. You are good at stepping on people when you choose to.

Here is a glossary to help you understand the cryptic, septapartite notation of your SOI type:

+Attent=high desire for attention, acknowledgement, and/or interaction (specific attentional needs vary from type to type)

Self=more interested in oneself than in others when interacting

-Attach=does not seek out long-term attachments

-Emo=prefers unemotional relationships

-<3=low desire for sex and/or romance

Broad=interacts with many people

Secure=does not expect negative evaluation from others

Your Bonding Quadrant: Merging
Summary: You tend to live in your own head and do not get too invested in the details of others' lives, but you do make an effort to hold onto important relationships, especially sexual/romantic ones. It is important that your relationships be close and intense while not robbing you of your autonomy. You are likely to be shy and to expend much of your mental energy towards self-doubt, shame, embarrassment, etc. If you haven't done so already, consider sexual masochism as a hobby.

While you enjoy high-intensity, short-term interactions—especially sexual/romantic ones—you don't put much effort into maintaining relationships. Yes, high emotionality and low attachment ...that's what I said.

An acute person tends toward extremes and temporal orientation is mostly immediate...so what am I missing in that sentence? What is your interpretation of that?

I'm merely pointing out that scoring Acute doesn't necessarily signify someone as an Aspie or an emo on love lockdown. I use my results as an example.

What do you think it means? What does it mean to you?
