It is weird how that works out sometimes! I wanna read that book. I want to see where the similarities end.

Yeah you should read it because it has better information than the condensed or summarized versions of Keirsey's work that you see on-line.

It can also give you more ammunition to argue about what is flawed about Keirsey's theory.

(I still think Jungian function theory is best)

Yeah, I really enjoy cognitive functions more than Kiersey, but at times the functions can blend a little too much. I think Kiersey's thoughts could be appreciated more if he pointed out flaws and wasn't as stereotypical. I defend the stereotypes a little bit because they do exist and it helps in discerning the anomalies within the system, but when you start saying everyone is like this you go too far.

Well honestly reading Keirsey made me appreciate function theory more. His stereotypes go way too far...he makes NFs all sound like a bunch of social workers who go through life fearing confrontation, and I feel also that his NF descriptions are WAAAAY too NFJ which is why so many ENFPs relate to SP traits.

Then he has the nerve to say all NFs are most opposed to SPs, which is the opposite of my experience, and apparently the experience of other ENFPs.

Function theory makes more sense if you actually understand it. If you read Jung the functions don't blend together as much, it becomes much more distinct when you truly understand the functions. There's a lot of misinformation on-line.

I guess I misspoke. It isn't so much the functions themselves, but I see everything about me and it's hard to pin-point preferences. I haven't read the descriptions that much in a while, but I don't understand why NP's would not look like SP's they have somewhat of the same temperament, right?

It helps to understand that the functions are attitudes, very intrinsic things, not just shifting states of mind you "use" interchangeably. As Kalach says, Te doesn't do the laundry and Se isn't driving your car.

That's a very good point. By attitudes you mean perspectives, right? That's how I try to see them.

I might have tested as a Feeling type if not for these idiotic answers which made me choose the "T" option:

It is more important to be truthful than diplomatic.
I sympathize with people and would tell a white lie to avoid hurting their feelings.

Some of the results in this thread are hilarious. Perhaps they are accurate!

I'm not surprised by mine. Clearly I could be ISFJ as well. I always test on the border of I/E and J/P but I feel more IxxJ than ExxP.

I believe feelings are valid only if they are logical.
I believe any feeling is valid, whether it makes sense or not.
I'm really in between.
This was stupid.

Feelings are valid only if they're logical??!
