Your scores are not in full agreement regarding your type. Using a decision procedure that ranks the relative strength of your preferences, the best estimate of your type is INTP.
Here are your more detailed results, preference by preference.

    Introversion: 35 / 11
    Extraversion: 3 / 11

    Intuition: 40 / 17
    Sensing: 10 / 17

    Thinking: 18 / 20
    Feeling: 36 / 20

    Perceiving: 50 / 16
    Judging: 3 / 16

    Dominant Judger: 19 / 11
    Dominant Perceiver: 14 / 11

    Introverted Sensing: 21 / 6
    Extraverted Sensing: 2 / 6

    Introverted Intuition: 12 / 5
    Extraverted Intuition: 8 / 5

    Introverted Thinking: 16 / 5
    Extraverted Thinking: 3 / 5

    Introverted Feeling: 13 / 11
    Extraverted Feeling: 27 / 11

    ---

I can appreciate why some of the questions and language used led to my answering a given way based on my life experience and values. That said, I am fairly certain my MBTI type is INFP.

    cheers,
    Ian

How is the test getting INTP from that? There's twice as high a score for F as there is for T...

Yeah, this explains A LOT. It says that I'm an INFJ (Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Judger) if you just go by the four categories, IN FACT I'm far, far, far and away a Judger over a Perceiver (46 vs. 12)

But if you look at things in terms of functions, my Fi is higher than my Fe by a longshot, my Ne is significantly higher than Ni, and I have much more Si than Se...which makes me an NFP. Except that it claims my Ti is moderately higher than my Te.

Its overall conclusion is that I'm an MBTI INFP and a Socionics INFj.

I'm satisfied with these results. Thank you for posting this thread.

Went back and saw that the test said I'd only answered 104/108 questions. Results now indicate ENFJ.

    Still an ambivert
    Introversion: 16 / 11, Extraversion: 16 / 11

    Still excessively intuitive
    Intuition: 64 / 17, Sensing: 0 / 17

I like Feeling a bit more.
    Thinking: 29 / 20, Feeling: 35 / 20

    ORLY?
    Perceiving: 25 / 16, Judging: 29 / 16

I understand what this is supposed to indicate now
    Dominant Judger: 28 / 11, Dominant Perceiver: 8 / 11

Well, I suppose that should be right. But I tend to identify with Se types a lot more. Si types can be such DOWNERS!
    Introverted Sensing: 17 / 6, Extraverted Sensing: 4 / 6

    Still have INxJ tendencies.
    Introverted Intuition: 12 / 5, Extraverted Intuition: 8 / 5

I don't understand the concept of Ti, but I guess I still do it somehow.
    Introverted Thinking: 8 / 5 , Extraverted Thinking: 9 / 5

    Spectacular failure at INFPishness.
    Introverted Feeling: 13 / 11, Extraverted Feeling: 26 / 11

There might be more questions for some functions than others, for example, and hence a higher likelihood of getting strong scores for those.

I don't know. Would you care to enlighten us, fduniho?
I would say NFP is his or her type according to the function scores and users own preference for NF. Fi was the highest.

You need to post the rest of your scores for an answer to that question.

I was asking about Ian's results; the scores are on the post I partially quoted but apparently should have copied and pasted in full. His scores were directly above my post; you can see them in full here.

When I look at his test results, I see INFP very clearly, and he agreees that he's INFP. But the test saw the same results and said INTP, even with a clear preference for F.

Ian got high scores on introverted thinking and extraverted feeling, and these preferences distinguish the INTP from the INFP. It may be that the test is biased toward INTP, because I wrote the questions, and I am an INTP. My current analysis shows that many more people have scored as INTP than have indicated their type as INTP, and more people have reported their type as INFP than have scored as INFP. So it would help to get suggestions for questions, particularly on the cognitive processes, from people who do not share my preferences.

Taken together, your scores indicate that you are an INTP. There was either some slight conflict between related scores, or some of your scores were insufficient to fully confirm your preferences. Check below for details. Here are your more detailed results, preference by preference.
