Has anyone taken this test? I think it suggests a better theory than the mbti, because it isn't typing the way mbti does, it gives many different options of order, more than mbti, but there are some parallels. I did mbti at school with my friends, and I typed INTP, the same as 2 friends that are extremely different to me. I therefore think mbti is too basic, or the core; but probably the mindframes theory gives a better scheme of a person. So, what do you think?

not sure why it's deeper than mbti. pretty much tells me the same thing.

Mindframe: SENSITIVITY

Frequency of Use: Very often (Lead mindframe)

The SENSITIVITY mindframe engages the senses: what you can see, hear, smell, taste and touch [..]

SENSITIVITY is the mindframe of awareness. It enables you to:

Pay attention—see what there is to see, hear what there is to hear, etc.
Keep your mind focused in the present moment
React quickly and without thinking to something you sense
Notice small personal details about people
Remember delightful experiences and how you felt
Enjoy "creature comforts" such as good food and good music
Appreciate what's attractive and colorful in your surroundings
Stay in touch with how you feel at any given moment
Be motivated by a strong desire to do something
Have sympathy and consideration for people's feelings
Be compassionate for people in distress
Feel affection for someone close to you
Nurture living things—children, animals, plants
Seek harmony in relationships
Solve problems by trial and error

The graphic above illustrates that LOGIC takes place primarily in the LEFT-FRONT region of the cerebral cortex. The cortex is the thinking part of the brain. The LEFT side uses language as a system for storing and sorting information. So thinking on the left side is sequential, systematic and objective. The FRONT part of the left brain takes data from the back part—information such as names, numbers and definitions—and draws logical conclusions.

For example, when you consider the words "chair" and "table," you know they're related. They're both part of the larger concept of "furniture."

LOGIC is the mindframe of problem solving. It enables you to:

Analyze the significance of data
Discover trends in facts and information
Do research using scientific methods
Evaluate current assumptions
Make a new assumption
Think of a reason why something happens
Decide which formula or principle applies to a given situation
Predict a future event based on a cause-and-effect principle
Draw conclusions based on evidence
Examine evidence to verify whether a conclusion is supported by the facts
Use a proven principle as a guideline
Use data to compare the pros and cons of several options
Use critical judgment to decide what to do
Set a goal to fulfill a purpose
Design a strategy to achieve a goal
Create an action plan to implement a strategy
LOGIC is concerned with "connecting the dots" step by step to make sense of information. When you think about the measurement, "3 degrees below zero," you compare it to other measurements and your personal experience. Using logic, you reason that this is a cold temperature, cold enough to cause ice and snow.

LOGIC seeks the answers to questions such as, "Is this realistic?" "Why did this happen?" and "How does this work?" For instance, a friend tells you that if you always turn off the engine of your car at stoplights, you can improve your gas mileage. You decide to test the technique. You already know that your car has been averaging 31.5 miles per gallon. After two months of calculating your mileage, your new average is 30.5 miles per gallon. You decide that your friend was wrong. This conclusion is the result of logical thinking.

LOGIC is a key mindframe for engineers, doctors, lawyers, legislators, planners, and programmers. The ability to reason is also crucial to conducting scientific research, managing money and writing reports. It allows you to apply principles and solve problems. When you examine evidence and draw conclusions, the knowledge you gain is grounded in reality.

I got sensitivity as well.

SENSITIVITY is your ability to be aware of something without defining it or analyzing it. At the orchid festival in the mall, you examine the patterns on the petals. Each variety triggers a reaction of delight. You notice the earrings your friend is wearing. Your attention shifts when the light coming through the skylight changes. Later, in the parking lot, the smell of the air reminds you of rain. On the way home, you sense danger—the car in front of you is too close to the centerline. You slow down. At home, you pet your cat. He licks your hand and you feel the bond of affection. Lying in bed at night, you hear the tree frogs and crickets as separate sounds.

When using the SENSITIVITY mindframe, you're focused on what's in the here and now. Outdoors, how the breeze feels on your face is more interesting than its speed and direction. Imagine that you're at a lake with a friend, and a hawk lands in a tree just twenty feet away. A few seconds later, a smaller, scruffy hawk lands next to it. Somehow, you can tell that the second hawk is the young of the first hawk. Suddenly, they both fly away. "Wow," you say. You've never seen a first-year hawk before. But your friend had his earphones on and missed the whole event.

SENSITIVITY also includes being aware of how you feel—your gut-level reactions. Feelings such as comfort, joy, wonder, delight, pleasure and excitement are the positive reactions you feel when you get what you want, when you experience something beneficial. On the other hand, not everything in life is fun, so you also experience the full of range of negative feelings. How do you react when an unexpected problem arises? When something you value is damaged or lost? When you believe you're in danger? When you're sick or injured?

When using the SENSITIVITY mindframe, you're likely to be perceptive, curious, attentive, alive, agreeable, affectionate, sympathetic and nurturing. These attributes are especially useful in professions such as nursing, customer service, child care, beauty care, craft work, home or office decoration, housekeeping, food preparation, farming, landscaping—any work that involves a lot of detailed hands-on activities.

My next most used was INSIGHT.

EDIT: Wait...does this mean that I'm a sensor?

The graphic above illustrates that LOGIC takes place primarily in the LEFT-FRONT region of the cerebral cortex. The cortex is the thinking part of the brain. The LEFT side uses language as a system for storing and sorting information. So thinking on the left side is sequential, systematic and objective. The FRONT part of the left brain takes data from the back part—information such as names, numbers and definitions—and draws logical conclusions.

For example, when you consider the words "chair" and "table," you know they're related. They're both part of the larger concept of "furniture."

The graphic above illustrates that INSIGHT takes place primarily in the RIGHT-FRONT region of the cerebral cortex. The cortex is where conscious thought takes place. The RIGHT side associates images by feel, which gives personal significance to memories. So thinking on the right side is nonverbal, instinctive and subjective The FRONT part of the right brain takes perceptions from the back part—sights, sounds, and body sensations—and relates them based on how you feel about them.

For instance, you may notice a friend's posture and tone of voice, along with the fact that she's under a lot of stress. Without consciously trying to do so, you remember these three perceptions—the posture, the tone, and the stressful situation—as a single pattern. Later, experiencing any one of these images may trigger a meaningful association with the other two. This is how insight tells you when something important is going on.

INSIGHT isn't some kind of psychic power. It's simply the ability to "connect the dots" all at once by seeing the pattern. You get a feel for how the world works based on observation. You see a woman smile, and you know she doesn't mean it. How? Instead of careful step-by-step reasoning to reach that conclusion, you instantly recognize the special cues you've learned to associate with insincerity. This intuition only seems mysterious because it happens so fast.

INSIGHT answers questions of personal significance: "Is this right?" "Is it fair?" and "How important is this?" It uses the patterns drawn from past experience to assess the meaning of what's happening right now. You form beliefs that "feel right." You hold them as long as they continue to work for you. For instance, if you've learned to recognize the signals, you may be able to tell when a person is lying.

INSIGHT is the mindframe of imagination. It enables you to:
Read nonverbal "body language", Interpret someone's moods, Be aware of a person's individual traits, Have empathy for another person's situation, Understand the characteristics of a human relationship, Appreciate the merits of a work of art, Associate one image with another, Think of a new solution
Visualize a possible future scenario, Know whether an action is ethically correct, Sense the personal significance of something, Feel a hunch that something is true, even without evidence, Hear "alarm bells" of high risk or danger, Form and use beliefs to make decisions, Consider some things to be more important than others, Make a personal commitment.

INSIGHT isn't some kind of psychic power. It's simply the ability to "connect the dots" all at once by seeing the pattern. You get a feel for how the world works based on observation. You see a woman smile, and you know she doesn't mean it. How? For instance, if you've learned to recognize the signals, you may be able to tell when a person is lying.

INSIGHT is a key mindframe for artists, designers, composers, performers, authors, architects, theologians and counselors. The ability to associate is also crucial to putting together a story, a poem, a song or a drawing. It lets you enjoy, appreciate and interpret works of art. When you connect the physical details of your experience, you discover their meaning. You see patterns and sense significance. The wisdom you gain, such as your understanding of people, isn't easily explained by logic.

These examples show how the insightful part of your mind does its work: intuiting, valuing and imagining. How much does the INSIGHT mindframe influence your thinking?

Cool test.

Logic- Very Often (Thought)
Sensitivity- Often (Thought)
Sociability- Often (Action)
Insight- Often (Thought)

Then I have...

Control- Sometimes (Action)
Charisma- Seldom (Action)
Order- Seldom (Thought)
Proactivity- Rarely (Action)

This has given me a good bit of insight upon reading the descriptions. I can see how being a Logic dominant person can sometimes conflict with valuing being Sociable (which it does). I do the Insight stuff a lot too, and Sensibility really describes me well too.

Even though I scored pretty high in logic, a lot of the bullet points don't really describe me, but a good amount of them do. But I think I definitely am a very logical person. It's weird to explain.

Because you very often use LOGIC, you may:
• Focus so much on future events that you don't appreciate the present moment
• Think so much about big-picture concepts that you overlook the details
• Do things on your own without telling others what you're doing
• Get frustrated with people who don't reason through problems as quickly as you do
• Analyze everything, even when it's not necessary
• Instead of listening sympathetically, try to figure out a problem and present a solution
• Come across as disinterested or impersonal
• Find it hard to loosen up and have fun
• Be impatient with casual, friendly conversation

Can't say it's much of a surprise, although I did expect to score more on insight.

The thing is that this test seems to give everyone a different description, which makes full sense to the fact that no one is exactly the same, so it doesn't type you. But, yeah, it will pretty much say the same thing (but more specialized than mbti). The descriptions are more accurate to what we really are, aren't they?

ORDER is the mindframe of rules. It enables you to:

* Name, define and classify things
* Record facts and data
* Inspect for compliance with standards
* Proofread text for errors
* Put something in its proper place
* Comply with laws, policies and regulations
* Remember someone's name, address or phone number
* Read and follow instructions
* Study maps, blueprints and diagrams
* Specify a requirement
* Calculate how much money is available
* Determine how much time is needed
* Operate machinery and precision tools
* Measure something accurately
* Use gauges and meters
* Troubleshoot technical problems

The tools of ORDER are human languages, such as speech, mathematics, symbols and computer languages. They give you the ability to define, quantify and manage reality. Using the correct names for things and classifying them properly helps put everything in its place. If you learn to specify quantities and use mathematics, you can do this: "These hinges are thirty-nine cents each. But if I buy three for a dollar, I'll save seventeen cents."

ORDER helps you establish procedures and define boundaries. This makes your actions routine and easy. Rules come in all shapes and sizes: methods, procedures, systems, instructions, schedules, standards, policies, laws and so on. Without these guidelines, you'd have to start over every morning with no solutions for anything. Learning them is one of the biggest hurdles in life.

The highly specific, detailed left-brain mindframe we call ORDER is used extensively in administration, purchasing, resource management, office management, bookkeeping, accounting, quality control, machine and vehicle operation, technical trades, equipment maintenance and repair, drafting and technical writing. All these activities depend on dealing with facts, checking measurements and staying organized.

These illustrations describe how the rule-based part of your mind helps you manage the details of life. Perhaps you engage the ORDER mindframe more than you realize.

It seems I have a clear preference for LOGIC. Not surprising.
Then it is basically a tie for the other thought patterns. Also, not very surprising.
My propensity for action is low. Not surprising.

Also, if I believe the order of things, it reveals a left brain preference for thought and a frontal lobe preference for action.

I am not sure. They only have 8 actual descriptions (one for each mindframe). The seeming variety comes from further analysis of the order of mindframes.

So the seemingly more accurate description may simply be an artifact of there being an ordering of 8 things giving you a further analysis.

There are 8!=40320 ways to order 8 things. Even more if you consider ties.

You have a similar thing in the eight descriptions of cognitive functions, and an ordering of their strengths (with no limits on the ordering).

I didn't find "LOGICAL" to be more accurate of me than "Ti" (nor less) .

If you believe their claims, the cool thing is that the mindframes correspond to sections of the brain. I know Lenore Thompson proposed something similar for the cognitive functions, but it seemed to be completely baseless.

I actually kind of like this one, the division between thought and action along the four different dimensions.. it seems like it's got the potential to be a pretty useful and insightful little framework.
