    Default Tagging

In an effort to see if they might actually be useful, we've reset the tags. We'd like to assemble a crack team of thread taggers who can responsibly apply useful tags to threads as they read them.

If you have ideas for tagging strategies that would make them a useful tool for our site (especially as a way for newcomers to navigate threads), or if you want to be considered for a position as an MBTIc Tagger, post here.

Is there a way to get the tags to look different from each other? When they all look the same there doesn't seem to be much point.

Are you talking about the size differences in tag fonts?

Look different in what way? Do you mean like size or color? (If so, I don't known of a way-- but the tech gods might.)

    And shouldn't tagging be a moderator's job?

They're all too busy haunting murkrow.

Hey Ivy quick OT question: When you ban yourself from the graveyard do the threads still show up in new posts and/or live new posts? Just curious, no intention of doing that as some of my favorite threads are in the graveyard!

As of right now, it is a moderator's job. If folks seem interested in keeping the system around and helping out with it responsibly, then we may keep it. But interest seems fairly low so at this point I suspect we will probably just scrap it entirely.

Yeah, especially colour. I guess to me the idea of tagging is putting something in a category, and if the categories all look the same....

I wouldn't mind helping though, if you actually want volunteers (and if the tagging thing stays). I like categorizing things.

No, I don't think they do. I think that is the major attraction to opting into that usergroup. Someone in the usergroup can confirm that for me.
