What do you mean the upload through PC doesn't work right? Do you mean in the "edit avatar" section or within this thread? If you mean the former, what happens when you try to do so? In the "edit avatar" section, have you tried both option 1 (from a URL) and option 2 (upload from PC) to upload the .gif?
It's alright, I can resize it myself thanks for the offer though. You might be right, ill try that later today.

Option 2, when uploading a gif, only shows a still rather than the gif itself, so I always upload through option 1.

Have you tried the second on the avatar upload page though?

Sorry i forgot to reply! I reduced the size by a large margin below limits, and used the uploader, which seemed to fix the issue this time around. URL still don't work for some reason. Oh well!

    Thanks for the help!

Yeah, I think you always have to use the uploader on there or it doesn't work. I alter my avatar occasionally to fit the seasons (and one of the ways that I was trying to change it wasn't working in regards to animation.

Glad it's working. It's nice and subtle.

For the sake of closure, and because there seems to have been some confusion on this recently:

Here is the conclusion we came to, and put into The Forum Rules:

    9. Signatures, Avatars and Custom User Titles

Overly large signatures or signatures with animation are not allowed. Avatars, signatures and custom user titles should be in good taste, shall not contain distracting animation or contain profanities. Avatars or signatures that are deemed to not be in good taste or otherwise distracting will be removed. The member may be asked to remove content that doesn't comply with this policy or it may be removed at madim discretion.
There's a tad bit of flex here, but only a tad. And by that I mean, you could always put your animated signature in spoiler tags. But if it's inappropriate in any way, then not even spoiler tags will help.

I never even noticed this thread.

I've had the same animated avatar for something like 8 years.

It's small and subtle enough to be fine. Like when @Codex had falling rain in her avatar, and @senza tema had rolling waves on the ocean.
