    Well, it begs the question.

If a permaban isn't permanent, why are we still calling it that?

Because that is still the intent and the default. We expect few permabanned members to request reinstatement, and even fewer to be granted it.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

I hate to say this because it goes against my normal inclinations but it sounds a lot like just another reminder that the mods and the owner can run the forum as they see fit, mods uber rules, its known so why post the thread other than to make it appear less capracious than its likely to seem in practice.

What's that Pantera album, naked display of force or something?

I figure there's maybe even mods who want to ban people for a sense of satisfaction and maybe others that want to bring them back afterwards, it could be like I said before be to do with bans instituted long ago when someone else owned and ran the forum to now.

I dont know, I'm not sure its worth speculating about. I boils down to mods be in charge, which we all knew didnt we.

Whoa, I read that wrong. For a moment, I thought we we're being subject to a strip search. That's Vulgar Display of Power, silly.
