maybe if there was an option to decline the flashing arrows?

EDIT: I'm just noticing now that the poll is public...
Then you could decline the user title. Some people will want it. I would want it. I'm proud to contribute because I love this place, and I think people are more inclined to donate when someone they know has.

That's what I just said, it would be great if there was an option to decline it.

I don't know if people are more inclined to donate if other people do. That kind of information is hard to quantify, and I generally don't care what others do. But if you feel strongly about it, then by all means, you should definitely let people know.

If you didn't want a response, you should have omitted the question mark. When I posed the idea, I wanted it to be agreeable. By responding, I was letting you to know that with my idea it would be possible to opt out, thus making the idea more agreeable to you than it was when you first posed the question.

    Dig?

What part made you think I didn't want a response? I just thought your response wasn't very helpful, that's all.

I posed the idea of being able to opt out, and in response you wrote that I could opt out. I got it, thanks.

So, to answer your question - yes, I dig.

What sort of answer were you expecting from a request to not be "put on blast"? Other than that you don't have to be put on blast?

I can't believe I'm even responding to this... but this is my last exchange with you about this topic.

I have no idea why you are pushing this issue, because it's a non-issue. You seem to be deliberately nit-picky and obtuse.
I didn't not request to not be put on blast, I posed the idea of having the ability to opt out.

I said "maybe we could have optionX?". A helpful response would have either been yes or no.
Your response was "Just do optionX then". which is circular and unhelpful, so I said: yes. that's what I said and agreed that you should have whatever option makes you happy.

That is all there was to it.

If you want to talk about this further, I'm sure someone else will jump in eventually with their 2 cents at some point.
See ya and have a great day.

    Yes.

    There's your yes.

I'm sorry that instead of using the word "yes" I said "you can decline the user title".

Social scientists have actually found that the single most effective way to get more people to do something is to simply tell them that other people are doing it.

    True story.

I'll take your word for it, it's not my area of expertise.
