To be honest with everyone, my rationale for leaving was that moderating just wasn't fun anymore. I found myself getting pulled into petty interpersonal issues that really polluted my capacity to enjoy intellectual exploration of ideas - the fundamental reason I joined this forum in the first place.

This is a long time coming. So, no Elaur - this wasn't a stressful decision. Quite the opposite actually.

I might come back, though not in the capacity I once was. Moderating is a stressful, thankless job - you should all be very grateful that you have such competency in volunteer staff. It's actually kind of an amazing sociological case study, but that's really another story.

Anyway, no worries. I'm relieved. I have a baby on the way and a doctoral thesis to explore! I think my ability to participate was on a downward spiral anyway.

    Take care everyone,
    Aaron
Congratulations on this new stage in your life, and thank you for all your hours and effort you spent on the forum!
Your kisses, sweeter than honey. But guess what, so is my money.

Bye Night. I always thought your avatar and your username was pretty cool, I didn't really read many of your posts though =(

Edward: Bebop here here! Alright woo hoo!
Weathergirl: Chance of rock showers today upgraded to 90 percent.
    Edward: Really.

He's off? Damn! We were just nearly getting into a rather pointless discussion about semantics only the other day!

i tend to agree with this; however, life has taught me recently that there are rare exceptions when it's appropriate to quit and move on.

This is true. Jumping is infinitely preferable to being pushed.
