Ah, thanks Jennifer. Appreciate the warm send-off.
To be honest with everyone, my rationale for leaving was that moderating just wasn't fun anymore. I found myself getting pulled into petty interpersonal issues that really polluted my capacity to enjoy intellectual exploration of ideas - the fundamental reason I joined this forum in the first place.
This is a long time coming. So, no Elaur - this wasn't a stressful decision. Quite the opposite actually.
I might come back, though not in the capacity I once was. Moderating is a stressful, thankless job - you should all be very grateful that you have such competency in volunteer staff. It's actually kind of an amazing sociological case study, but that's really another story.
Anyway, no worries. I'm relieved. I have a baby on the way and a doctoral thesis to explore! I think my ability to participate was on a downward spiral anyway.
there's no word for 'good-bye' in the Sioux Language, only one for see you soon!

I am so sorry to hear Night is departed.
He was one of the very best posters.
And it is our fault, of course, not his. We should have done more to match his standard.
Now it is too late.
I do hope he comes back, some day.
