    Yeah. . . I'm sure that's it.

    Good work, Geoff.

We will be holding the new mod debate within the Madmin social group.

Obviously, you can view the discussion, but you can't post in that social group.

    Either way, now you know.

    Two things:

a/ I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the latest upgrade added numerous default Q & A's to our FAQ page. So, if you have questions relating to general forum usage, please review the FAQ answers prior to starting a thread in Feedback.

b/ We added a new line to the Rules of Conduct for Members: "If a member is discovered to have multiple accounts, he or she will be asked to choose one and the others will be merged into the main account. If the member is later discovered to have created other accounts without permission, the accounts will be merged into the previously chosen account, which will then be banned for one month."

    You have been warned!

    So FYI:

Personal Threads are threads that address specific problems or questions or situations. When the situation is resolved, the thread dies out. In other words, the thread has a built in expiration date.

Blogs are threads that you post to on an ongoing basis. They don't have an expiration date in theory.

The main forum (e.g., NT Rationale) should be used for threads that are not personal in nature but conducive to general discussion and input.

    While I'm at it,

MBTI, Enneagram, etc. stores threads that are not-type specific but are still type-related.

    General Psychology is pretty obvious.

The Bonfire should be used for threads that are unrelated to psychology but that still have structure and discussion.

The Fluffzone is the Bonfire minus organization and nourishing content. It's the Bonfire after someone's peed in it.

The Graveyard is for strange threads that defy categorization but retain a spooky quality.

Just a reminder to a handful of our beloved users:

Fluff: Lesser annoyances, such as repeated and/or sole posting of "fluff" posts, may cause a member to be restricted to posting in The Graveyard, at discretion. Additionally, the creation of a duplicate account for the purpose of circumventing The Graveyard will result in a banning of the quarantined member. Threads are moved at the mod's discretion; any such action will be clearly indicated at the time by the mod concerned, as are all moderating actions. For the purpose of posting at MBTI Central, fluff is defined as:
Consecutive posts topically unrelated to the original post (OP)
Consecutive posts that lack the seriousness deemed necessary for the topic at hand
Threads that single out members as their topic, i.e. birthday threads, baby announcements, etc.
Threads created for the sole purpose of frivolous socializing
We've had the fluff discussion before--we don't mind it if it stays in the right place. Please, please, PLEASE keep the chatty stuff in the Fluff Zone. I've just moved hundreds of posts out of threads with topics that deserve, if not super-serial treatment, at least not hundreds of chat posts.

People come to MBTI Central to learn about their personality and interact with others who have an interest in the topic. Along the way we meet people with similar tastes in music, humor, political views and become friends.

Finding people you feel comfortable with so fast sometimes makes you feel more familiar with them than what really is. Bantering in threads, PMs, rep comments, and visitor messages all lend themselves to feelings of closeness to other members. Miscommunications are a fact we deal with in real life and doubly problematic online when lacking context such as body language and other non-verbal cues.

It has come to madmin attention that some members feel comfortable enough with other members to make unwanted sexual innuendos and advances towards them. The madmin team would like to reiterate to members that there is absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE for sexual harassment on the public forum, private messages, reputation comments, and visitor messages regardless of sex and/or gender of the harasser.

Rather than single any members out, we're asking you to please think before you type and submit. This cannot be said enough. Please be aware that not everyone gets your jokes and not everyone can tell when you're joking or when you're serious. Not everyone feels comfortable flirting in a sexual manner. From this point forward, 'I was only joking,' will not be an acceptable excuse. This is a difficult issue to navigate because it's hard enough to distinguish wanted and unwanted advances in real life.

Also, please report if communication between you and another member is veering in this direction. We can't do anything about what we don't know about.

    Thanks.
Relationships have normal ebbs and flows. They do not automatically get better and better when the participants learn more and more about each other. Instead, the participants have to work through the tensions of the relationship (the dialectic) while they learn and group themselves and a parties in a relationships. At times the relationships is very open and sharing. Other time, one or both parties to the relationship need their space, or have other concerns, and the relationship is less open. The theory posits that these cycles occur throughout the life of the relationship as the persons try to balance their needs for privacy and open relationship.

A new hack has recently been installed that enables madmins to ban members from a single thread. And we like it. A lot.

As some have already noticed, we've added two fresh faces to our Moderating team:

    CzeCze
    Trinity

Please give them a high-five as you see them in the hallways.
