Hmmm... my friends say that I never get angry, and I generally don't. The last time I was really, really mad it was at one of my friends, but I was forced to conclude that he was in the right (and a really good friend), so it wouldn't behoove me to go flying off the handle at him. But I was still really, really pissed. When I went home I was eating some yogurt and ended up chewing on the aluminum(?) lid, as if that was how I expressed anger. It was weird. If I ever did actually lose control, I can't imagine what I'd be like.

Last time I got really angry was several years ago when I was still married and my husband was out of work, collecting unemployment, and I was working 12 hour days and paying the bills, and every month, the cable bill would be different and sometimes different enough to throw me off budget, so I went to the cable company and stood in line, with people standing behind me in line, and asked why the bill was so high this month, and she said Pay Per View. I said nobody's watching pay movies at my house I can tell you. She said yes they are and she called up the titles, and they were all porn films, and the people in line behind me are snickering. So I see that my husband rather than looking for work is lying on the couch jacking off to porn all day, running up bills I have to pay. I came in the house shrieking like a banshee, slammed everything that could be slammed, all the kitchen cabinet doors and all the regular doors, and I picked up a couple of things and slammed them to the floor just for the pleasure of breaking them, even picked up the top of the toilet tank with both hands and flung it to the floor, screaming at him the entire time, I don't even know what I said, but none of it was nice.

Oh, I went berserk one night when this car parking under my window kept honking its horn and I couldn't get any sleep. The longer they kept it up, the more tense I got, until finally I grabbed the baseball bat and flew down the three flights of stairs in my nightgown, barefoot, talking about I'm gonna smash your lights in if you don't get off this street and stop honking. They said they were trying to tell someone their ride had arrived. I said well one of you go to their door, then, don't sit out here honking in the middle of the night, waking up the entire high rise. You think nobody can hear you except this one person? They said they couldn't go to the door because they couldn't remember exactly where he lived. We got in an argument about whether or not that was stupid and some names were called.

from what I can tell, when NFs "loose it" they become homicidal, or nearly. It's like everything good in them just drained out through their feet.

I speak from personal experience and I try very hard not to "loose it" because when I have "lost it" I'm generally capable of actually killing someone.

Yeah, that's probably why it doesn't happen that often, luckily (at least for me).

That but like a fragmentation bomb, keeping the anger inside and blasting it in your face at random times.

I find it is more when I can no longer see anything I value as human in a person, I no longer have a conscience. Which sort of isn't good when combined with knowing exactly how to destroy them, and not liking them. I have a really bad habit of attacking the foundations psychologically, normally with the same method they use on others, but a lot more precision. I don't really go the sparing match, just calmly throw the spanner in the right place to start meltdown.

Luckily it is very difficult to get me to see nothing in anyone. You probably need to have no conscience and be quite destructive over a long period of time, and ignore a squillion really clear and assertive warnings I give you. And clarifications of the impact of your actions that i give you.

I stop thinking and just react. Till the irritation is removed.

It hasn't really happened in the last 15 years. Repairing walls, replacing furniture, and dealing with the justice system, are too expensive in time and money.

well, define "explode"

If you mean just losing control, plain and simply, that usually happens when I'm really stressed or too pessimistic about life in general.

I don't really find it to be a bad thing per se, because usually I just get it out of my system and it's over, and apologies ensue.

I think it can also be a largely cultural/social thing as well. Brazilians (broad generalizations coming) are pretty vocal with their anger, and pretty dramatic when they are pissed. Spats, and squabbles are quite common in most households, where people lose control of their emotions, blah, blah, blah, etc...but it usually ends ok, as in it's just a part of everyday living, and not a big deal. This can seem scandalous in some cultures, I guess...

Personally, I don't think I've ever done anything more than put a hole in a wall, or beat the shit out of my futon with a baseball bat. but that was way back in middle school. I don't really do anything like that anymore since I have much greater emotional control and can keep it in to a point. But when it crosses the "line", and I have to say something, my anger usually manifests itself in a heated debate, complete with jittery hands and nervous pacing back and forth, followed by minor self-destructive behavior, like drinking too much, or smoking way too much (which now isn't a problem since I switched to e-cigarettes, haha). Glad to say it doesn't happen very often.

Now, if you mean lose it as in going "postal", I really couldn't say...

lets see here I yell, then I want to stab the person who pissed me off. I go off steam for awhile plan the best way to kill them and how to get rid of the evidence. Then I get too lazy to do anything.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or empathise, so I'll just hug.
