You rock, spirilis.

That is a ton of awesome pictures, but yes all the different road ones you got are my favorites. And the bear.

I'd have to say the very best one would be the Cumberland Mountain one where it looks like a giant wave that's about to crash down all over everything. I'm saving that one!

This looks like an awesome trip!

I have a several stories connected with a few places in your Smokies photos, so many of those make me laugh.

Wow. I'd get Stendhal symptoms with all that space. I'm easily over-awed. Beautiful.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
-What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
-Yes, my dear.

The pictures really don't do jack-all shit for justice, either. I totally want to live there someday (e.g. in Asheville so I'm close-by)

And thank you for teaching me about a new syndrome

Oh I know. But I can imagine myself there, and I have your pictures to thank for that.

Very pretty, but the Rockies make them eminently forgettable in just about every way imaginable, IMO.

Yeah, I need to get out there. For now the Smokies are my little castle of nature (semi-barely-)close to home.

And just remember, they used to be as tall as the Rockies ......... a very long time ago

Looking out my window now I don't think I'll be around when they start calling them the Pebbles, however.

I live in the foothills about a mile up.
I love living in the higher elevations in the summertime but in winter I only like to visit the higher ups.
Here I have a sufficient growing season for my garden and can be in six different life zones without driving more than twenty miles.
