Please each of the four in order of preference.

When choosing a mate, what do you prefer in order:

    A help mate
    A play mate
    Meeting of minds
    Meeting of souls

    e.g.

Somebody to help you through troubles and makes things better
Somebody to have good fun with and damn the consequences
Somebody you can talk to and understand
Somebody who has the same principles and ideals as you

Meeting of minds had the edge as I found a soulmate that was as thick is two short planks, and I was repelled. Better, to have an intelligent partner with different ideals. Then we can have an argument without resorting to violence.

    So

    Mindmate
    Soulmate
    Playmate
    Helpmate
Freud is 80% fraud, all except the E for Ego
The difference between the Psi Cops (psychiatrists)
and the Psi Corps (psychologists) is the R for Relationship.

Combination of mind/soulmates, followed by playmate.

For a life mate, I would insist on all of the above. Anything else is just settling.

I was lucky enough to find someone who fits all of the above.

It says order of preference. Are you settled?

No, it's a radio button poll.

Well I did vote in the pole.

In order of preference I would say minds, souls, help mate, play mate.

By settling, I refer to people who choose a less than ideal mate because they feel they won't find any one else, or won't find any one better and they don't want to be alone. So in that sense, I haven't settled. I found some one who is my ideal. We have been married for over 20 years, so I suppose you could say I have settled down.

    souls (NF)
    playmate (SP)
    minds (NT)
    helpmate (SJ)

I'm not implying that the mate would be in the temperament category listed. It's just an observation about what I would expect each to seek if they were stereotypical.
