Would an introvert be energized physically and mentally from a day he spends entirely by himself?

Well, mentally, I feel energized. But if all I do is loll about the house all day obviously that doesn't do anything for me physically. Technically when I go outside & wander about I am not alone. But it isn't like I really interact with anyone, so it can be more energizing than draining. :p

Too much of solitude or crowds = flat batteries.

Does solitude energise me? nope, the opposite is true. Socialising energises me but then I need solitude to recover.

If socializing energieses you why would you need solitude to recover?

Perhaps it has more to do with being able to get by yourself and process what you've experienced. That's typical of my Ni, at least. I have to extract meaning from the occurrences of the day and get my thoughts organized.

*mocks your pain with an elaborate puppet show, then removes all the beer cans* :D

You have a mighty impressive stomp, though. I rate it a 9 out of 10.

Pssht, that's what dreaming is for. Nah, I agree somewhat.

I'll get you, Dabney Coleman! :D

Actually, dreaming is for the brain to unload, not for the conscious to network with it's own recollections and impressions. I get very surly if I can't process through the reams of data that arrive in my mind during the course of any given day.

I'm not sure I'd use the word "energized". It's more like a de-stressor, or a chance to deflate a bit. It's more that when I'm around a lot of people I'm on "high-alert", and getting some time to myself lets me relax and just... be myself.

It doesn't apply to all situations - when I'm around a small number of friends and can stay pretty quiet, I do okay, chatting one-on-one I do fine, and in public places like on a bus or when I'm "on task", and can focus on what I'm doing and not anyone around me, I'm fine. But put me in any sort of high-energy social-type situation with lots of people around, and I burn out very quickly, get anxious, and start looking for an exit.

Trin... I'm guessing it's kind of like exercise.

Feels nice, but you need to give your muscles time to recover.

Extroverts compensate that high-alert thingy with everyone thinking oneself is stupid. Then noone sees the thread coming xD

I'd say socializing can be highly stimulating but the stimulation exahusts me and then I desperately need time alone.
