I've been on a kind of British Hunting attire kick lately.

From what I've seen, and the way I view it myself, INTJs seem to value simple but tasteful clothing. They aren't exactly "fashionable," but they do like to look nice. I don't dress particularly well myself, but it's more because in my environment, doing so would make me stand out more than I'm comfortable with. If I worked in a truly "professional" work setting, I would probably wear a nice suit, with basic colors, but given a little bit of character with some nice cufflinks or something. I know absolutely nothing of female styles, so I don't know how this perspective would manifest for female INTJs.

lol. how so?
I would never dress as the "INFPs" pictured. I suppose Enneagram is better and much more in depth, my prefered clothing style has always been 'somewhat trendy' and 'unique', but not too special; reserved. I don't follow all trends, but admittedly, some I do. I realize this doesn't make any sense.

That sounds about right...
You should stop supporting the wool industry, it's cruel.

I'd definitely agree with this. I have a good INTJ friend and he usually wears nice but casual jeans, a polo or buttondown, sometimes a vest, or a non-ratty v-neck or t-shirt. He also wears the occasional tank top (but not the entire-side/abdomen exposing ones) since he's kind of outdoorsy. Simple, but he always looks nice.

I also have an ENFJ teacher and she dresses exactly like the pictures posted here.

I'd wear almost all of the INFx clothes. :)

Black suit, dark jeweltone sweater or collared blouse, comfortable black shoes, minimal but unusual silver jewelry. I have, in fact, a set of silver cufflinks and a deep purple blouse that requires them. I wear a similar color palette all the time, with casual pants and sweaters for normal workdays, black jeans with polos or pullovers for casual wear, and the occasional dress or skirt for fancy or party occasions.

Boot cut jeans and fitted tees for me. I like muted, natural colors when I can find them and even better if they are heathered because it shows less when I splatter grease and bleach on them because I forgot to put on an apron.

- Like the INTJ, but horrible enough to actually like being hipster. Neckbeards and video game boxers where the dickhole is so overused you see the entire meat pile whenever they wear shorts.

-Wear Pokemon shirts to a job interview. Oh and they all LARP, so expect a broadsword or some stupid Star Wars lightsaber Wood Shop/Tech Ed high school project hanging tragic and unused (like their sexuality)above a filthy kitchen sink for some reason, in their 1-bedroom efficiency apartment. Lots of medieval weapons, actually, in their apartment and always paid for with student loan money from the college they dropped out of.

- Only talent is their crippling credit card debt

Vicious, subhuman mutants. Touching any part of their clothes, ever -- even incidentally, guarantees you get a potentially fatal dose of their freakish superbacteria. Weeks of scrubbing and crying for death won't be anything if you accidentally become them as a result of their infection. This is the only way they can reproduce. By overwhelming you with grime.

Don't ever get close. Not even on Omegle.

I dont think your hipster theory fits very well on my fav clothes:

Yeah... All the INTPs I've known go for function and comfort over fashion. I've known a couple of ones with a slight eye for fashion, but it seems to be rare for the INTP in general. The "hipster" community seems to be made up of INFx's, for the most part.

I like coats, jackets, jeans and t-shirts. I prefer to mix classy with casual clothing. But I don't care much about fashion.

- short sleeve button down, usually with a tie. Sorta like they forgot they had to go somewhere fancy and pulled anything off the floor and thought adding a tie would bring it all together make them look alright. Never know they actually look like filthy, mismatched clothes and a wrinkled tie instead.

- The dipshit with the backwards Abercrombie visor. Usually wearing some kind of sports cap and sneakers, even when it's stupidly cold, like it's some badge of masculine identity. (Frostbite is so hardcore.) Always the last to suit up for winter. Like a middle school paperboy, but instead of papers for you, you end up wanting to throw rocks at him -- Probably only in your mind, but everyone's hoping you finally do it for real.

ISTJ

- bulky, clearance-rack polo buttoned all the way up so their adam's apple bounces on Kmart fabric whenever they speak. Pleated dress pants that boner-up in the crotch when they sit down. (Impossible, as all males are asexual, genderless humanoids at birth.) Gel and hairspray. Chalky deodorant. Oh. and way too much Old Spice - it's not possible for an ISTJ to wear anything but Old Spice. Because smelling like $7.95 means class.

- Usually have chapped lips for some reason. And receding gums from obsessive brushing. So, expect ointments in every goddamn pocket imaginable.

ISFP

- Always leave a patchouli and incense vapor trail, because they value aromatics. And want to cover the woodsy musk of dank pot buried deep into the fibers of every piece of clothing they own or gift you. Honest to Christ, this is for real here. Not worth risking celebrating birthdays with them for this reason, as wherever you go, you will stink of hippy.

- Wool everything. Like, every possible thing. All of it smells like pet ferret pee. Or gerbil shit. They always chose some variation of rodent as a pet, and then forget to change its bedding. On the upside, if you're into that sorta thing, you have a pot hookup wherever you find one - but only if you can talk to them long enough to get before you're overwhelmed by the rank odour of old B.O., stale goat milk and cigarette breath.

INTJ

- Always hipsters. Always. Always. Always. Actually, they're probably the type most responsible for hipster culture and their pedantic pseudo-irony approach to fashion, IE mixing and matching old fashion trends while peacocking like they're above it all. Punch them on sight. Every INTJ is a complete monster.

- Hipster version - expensive, thread-worn clothing with pubescent-level mustache and Yo La Tengo concert shirt they got from their older cousin, back when he was cool and not a middle-America sell-out. Probably wearing a fedora, thinking they're the first to rediscover the fashion every alcoholic detective in the 40's wore. Instagram account to artificially age their (looking away, frowny selfie) for their OkCupid account where they talk about how wine and atheism make them euphoric.

Thank balls most will never reproduce due to their withered appearance and bottom-of-the-toilet personality.

Is Dick-ey a word? Because yeah - if it is, they are always dickey. Especially in fashion.

INTP

The type least likely to have relatives remember their funeral.

My dad is an INTJ, and he's definitely not a hipster. He's more suit and tie, with mostly a white dress shirt.

I'm always willing to sacrifice just a small amount of comfort and functionality in the name of looking nice.

For instance, wearing a suede button-up shirt and a wool scarf out to a bar last weekend.

(It was hot in there)

This is such a good thread, I don't want to see it go to waste...

Interestingly I had no fashion sense\style till my early 30s... How early did you guys develop your personal style?

The ESFP clothes listed here have such dull colors! Maybe time for a real ESFP to step in...

So I usually wear very bright colors and I have this thing for shiny and fluffy (not fleece, not furry, FLUFFY) fabrics and I noticed the same thing about other ESFPs. The thing is I just don't look good in 'subtle' colors, they tend to drain me. Okay, sure, I can wear grey, but black, brown and any faded version of most colors make me look sick. I personally LOVE neons, no matter how bad I look, they seem to add some life to my skin. If you look into my closet, you'll find multiple shades of red and purple, lots of bright and neon yellow, hot pink, very clear white (not cream or off-white), bright and emerald greens and grey. I have some blue too, but that's mostly for pants (I'm just not that fond of blue), and I'm trying to cut down on black.

As for types of clothing: when it comes to dresses I prefer tight dresses (my stomach is pretty flat, so I can handle that) and skater dresses. For my work I need to wear pants, so I've got four pairs of skinny jeans (one of these had a monochrome print, the other one a camouflage print and the other two are normal). I also have some sweatpants, but I rarely wear those outside the house. I also have what I call 'summer sweat pants', which happen to be neon yellow shorts. I love shorts, by the way. I have tons of T-shirts, these are either basics or they have some fun kind of print on them. I even designed the print on one of my T-shirts, but I don't really dare to wear that one in public, because it could be seen as controversial (it has some political anti-racist shit on it). Now the only type of clothing where I really care about comfort, happens to be sweaters. They're still colorful and stuff, but I have a weak spot for fluffy sweaters and oversized sweaters with funny prints.

The only type of clothing I have trouble with, is jackets. I never seem to find one that completely suits me and most of them have these really boring colors. If I buy one, it's usually one of these long, elegant-ish ones with buttons and belt and stuff. I dread padded jackets and I usually stay away from jackets that make my body look straight.

Edit: oh, and I LOVE heels. I also wear flats from time to time, but mostly when I'm at work.
Edit: and bright colored and shiny accessories. I don't really understand why my look doesn't come across as overbearing on photographs.
