Default Can Cognitive Extraverts be Social Ambiverts or Introverts?

I'm wondering if some people who have a dominant function like say, Ne can be extraverted by cognition, but also ambiverted or even introverted by interactive standards.

Absolutely. I in fact may be an example of one.

Since cognitive extraverts and (social) extoverts aren't the same by definition, the answer is "yes."

Ambivert-ish here. Which is odd, I suppose, since my dominant function is apparently all about socializing and gossip.

Do you think that's because you're a man? Or it's just how you are?

Absolutely. Like bologna pointed out, the definitions are not mutually binding.

Yes, I believe so. I think that how a person's lead functions work together have more to do with this than whether the lead function is extraverted or introverted.

Yes. I wouldn't be surprised for some cognitive extroverts/social introverts to mistype as an I because of what many think defines extroversion/introversion and because of how outgoing online descriptions may portray Es out to be. I'm pretty extroverted though so I never really had this problem.

Cognitive Extrovert, Social Introvert reporting in.

Some examples of the same cognitive style but differing extroversion/introversion, would be the difference between:

Old Spice guy vs Michael Ironside (ESTP)

Tommy Lee Jones vs Josh Brolin (ISTJ)

Tony Robbins vs Martin Luther King (ENFJ)

Jennifer Love Hewitt vs Fiona Apple (INFJ)

    Wierd Al vs Einstein (ENTP)

Sean Penn vs Seth Green (ISTP)

Janelle Monae vs Tea Leoni (bad example, ENTJ)

Cognitive extraversion correlates with sociability(cognitive extraverts often are social extraverts also, but not always) and by definition they are not the same thing.
