I don't think it's that so much as it's just expressionless. If you look into the first video and the I am INTP video, where it's close enough to see how they use their eyes while speaking, you can envision them not seeing anything. They're eyes are open but it's as if they're not really being used so the impression is vacant, or lifeless. The probably happens a lot during heavy introspection, and sense the two videos display two INTPs analyzing themselves, that's what we're seeing.
