So that is the one defining idea that I share with libertarians.
Yeah, pretty much. Libertarians are Laissez-faire (right-wing) and Individualistic (libertarian), so they generally fall in the bottom right quadrant of the Political Compass. Liberals are Hands-on (left-wing) and Individualistic (libertarian), so they generally fall in the bottom left quadrant of the Political Compass (and I do very much so!). Conservatives are Laissez-faire (right-wing) and Conventional (authoritarian), so they generally fall in the top right of the Political Compass (all the U.S. Republican presidential candidates (even Ron Paul, by a small margin). And Statists (or Progressives, as I call them) are Hands-on (left-wing) and Conventional (authoritarian), so they generally fall in the top left quadrant of the Political Compass. They are your state-run communists and socialists.

As for Military vs. Passive and Diplomatic vs. Uninvolved, I think that Military generally falls more authoritarian and Passive falls more libertarian, while Diplomatic falls more left-wing and Uninvolved falls more right-wing. So that would mean Activists generally fall closer to top left from their position from being either a Liberal, Libertarian, Conservative, or Statist and how strong their stance is on that, Interventionists generally fall closer to the top right, Isolationists generally fall closer to the bottom right, and Internationalists generally fall closer to the bottom left.

I think this theory lines up rather nicely, since I scored in the center of the bottom left quadrant on Political Compass and I am DHIP (Internationalist Liberal), while you scored higher up, closer to the center of authoritarian and libertarian scale than I did. And the only letter difference between you and I was that you are Militaristic while I am Passive.

    I hope I made sense.
