I've watched Songify This: Winning - a Song by Charlie Sheen on Youtube for good fun a few times now, and I've become to think of bi-polar disorder.

I could argue that bipolar disorder could be an instance of personal bistability, because the system is maintained at a maximum of two stable conditions.

Only the turning point of one stable condition to the other fluxuates.

Ideas?

[edit: the first time I found about the bistable condition was on an electrical engineering course in university, where the bistability described the condition of some transistors on an integrated circuit.]

Was my thread idea too far-fetched and incoherent again :)

I was joking on the idea of bipolar disorder. The usual complaint about people with said disorder is that they alternate between two extremes. I argued (not too srsly) that the bipolar condition is an instance of bistability, something where system is stable in two different setups. Well.

Uh.

I have to make my jokes less subtle.

I thought it was interesting but don't have much to say other than that. It actually kind of makes sense!
