    "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations"

    I like this quote/idea a lot.

    The phrase "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations" (IDIC) refers to the infinite variables (or forms of intelligence) in the universe and the infinite ways in which they may beneficially combine. IDIC is often seen as an underlying philosophy of the Vulcans

    I now know a lot about a fictional humanoid species, interesting.

    Fictional humanoids are usually specialists in just one aspect of humanity.
    They are a case study of that aspect.

    Sadly so, most are never truly developed past a very limited concept.

    Yeu'll also notice most planets of aliens have only ONE culture, ONE country, ONE unified ideal. They're all pretty much the same... seriously, we have hundreds on this planet alone, why would any other planet be different? Why would other planets not have other species living upon the same planet with them as well?

    Think that's one of the reasons I liked babylon 5 as much as I did... there were significant differences between members of a species. While one ideal may seem predominant, there are multiple paths that may still exist as well.

    They mentioned there's 3 main religions on Narn, the Minbari have 3 separate castes which act differently, the Centradi have dozens of noble families, each with their own personal agendas and varying degrees of power, which equate overall to countries. There's just so much variation within the species that they aren't just bland carbon cutouts of each other, focusing solely on a single aspect of humanity. Some even cover things we don't =3

    There's sadly far too few that do that... even though Tolkien was able to make incredibly rich, and deep peoples and environments, they still ended up being just singular facets of humanity usually, broken down by race.

    Overall it's disappointing ;_;

    Well, we are the only humanoid species living on this planet.

    And, from a macroscopic view, I am sure you could feasibly describe us as a singular, unified type of humanoid, prone to x, y, and z.

    KK, back to Frasier.
