Default I'm an E type 4w3/ MB type ENFP-- questions

    Hey all,

Are there any fellow E type 4w3/ MB type ENFPs out there? From what little I know about the MB, it might be unusual for E4s to be this MB type. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that.) But I am quite an extroverted and social 4 at times, which I think is in large part due to my strong 3 wing (although, like any good 4 I quite value and need my alone time, and sometimes can become very inward-looking and pensive.) I would like to know more about this MB/Ennagram type combo and hear your general or specific thoughts on it. I'm trying to understand more about the MB.

    Thanks!

Yes, there was some discussion of this on a 4w3 thread a while back....

I'm like you, four. Same exact Etype. But I'm eNFJ. I wrote on that thread how, typically, 4w3s are extraverted while 4w5s are introverted. BUT, all 4s tend toward introversion so those of us with a 3 wing can swing between I and E and have a lot of both. I fall right on the line, just a little more E than I. The 3 wants to be out there, in the world, seen and celebrated, while the 4 wants to look inward, go deep, withdraw into the self and often just avoid the world.

It's a conflict, internally, but also a balance....

It's actually MBTI. Myers-Briggs Type indicator.

It doesn't really make sense if you say
"I'm trying to understand more about the Myers-Briggs."

    Me.

Oh - ok - to elaborate. Like the above person said, type 4 is more introverted and type 3 is more extroverted. Therefore, it actually makes lots of sense that an ENFP (a so-called "introverted extrovert") would be a 4w3.

It's like we have that Fi need for individuality, expression, and authenticity that is very compatible with 4, but the need for external approval of a 3.

I think it has something to do with my childhood, in my case. I've been "on stage" for most of my life. Dancing, theatre, singing, and as a child also just feeling like I had to parade around and jump through hoops to please my ISTJ father figure.

I've seen quite a few 4w3 ENFPs. I don't think it's too uncommon and it certainly isn't impossible.

    Marm describes it well.

I wonder why I never see type 5 ENTPs then...

(Some times I think I could be a 5w6 INTP [or maybe 5w6 ENTP, if I wasn't convinced that type 5 ENTP was impossible], but shhhh, don't tell anyone!)

Plenty of type 5 ENTPs.....i'm surprised there are any other types. I'm a 5w4 myself.

4w3 NFPs (especially if they say they have strong 3 wing) are usually 3s... but they'll never know it..

Why do you say that? From what I've been shown, 3s are more likely to be ExxJ.

4w3 is actually somewhat common for ENFP, although apparently not as common as 7.
