When I wrote this I was kinda in a time crunch, and a little miffed.

    I prefer these:

Relationships have normal ebbs and flows. They do not automatically get better and better when the participants learn more and more about each other. Instead, the participants have to work through the tensions of the relationship (the dialectic) while they learn and group themselves and a parties in a relationships. At times the relationships is very open and sharing. Other time, one or both parties to the relationship need their space, or have other concerns, and the relationship is less open. The theory posits that these cycles occur throughout the life of the relationship as the persons try to balance their needs for privacy and open relationship.

To not forget my 5 cents: of all the types the ENTJ proved to be the most easiest one for me to communicate with. That doesnt mean they are dumb, but they are good with kids .

I do not have much to criticise about an ENTJ, infact I got nothing.

One could say my inner chi is in perfect sync with the things a typical ENTJ says and that's a thing that really frightens me xD

Wish my dad would see that, he would never call me again to be the one who always needs to have the last word

+ I think the ENTJ has got a very bad image. One that doesnt fit who they really are.

The ENTP got too, but that I dont care about, that's good for self-defense

I love you for this post.

But for real, I never really have issues with communicating with EJs. The point murkrow brings up is very good, you just basically have to be up front or you will be misinterpreted. If they get that "who's gonna stop me?" attitude, then don't back down, since that's your invitation to prove them wrong and continue the conversation/debate.

My experience is with an ENFJ (mother) who has had some issues, but has gotten to a healthy level as of late, and with an ESTJ step mother who really seems to be not well rounded... and all you can do with her is ignore the intimidation factor. So I guess I've learned based on growing up.

But before that, I pretty much had no idea. IP vs EJ.

I also like what cascadeco said as an example-

I have to catch myself doing this (especially as an Fi dom), this is a mistake I've learned to correct in my life.

Remember, no one really WANTS to hurt you or anything like that in normal conversation (unless it's obvious), so "standing up" to an EJ shouldn't be that intimidating if you tell yourself that.

But in my experience, I've always been very straightforward with my ENFJ mom, and she's always been very straightforward with me, and we have virtually no issues (we worked out our issues, which weren't related to type). The way I see her get into this mode is when she's explaining how she thinks something should develop or what she thinks someone's intentions are, she says it in such a way that it seems pointless to argue. But all you really have to do is put your input in... that's what they really want it seems.
