I was thinking about this today. I was raised conservative (and christian). Yes, I'm sure that horrifies people. But I feel like I almost have a leg up on being able to see more than one side.

I was thinking about if there is a benefit to the more conservative leaning types being raised liberal or the more liberal leaning types being raised conservative.

So in conclusion Obama is a right winger and smart people are all Anarchists and Communists.
Anarchism and Communism is really the same thing except that Communists believe in the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. Soviet Russia wasn't Communist, it was Authoritarian Socialist.

Obama is really not that different from Bush, it's amazing that when he's proposing a healthcare plan that's not as right wing as that of countries like Canada, with the conservatives supporting universal healthcare alongside the liberals, he is labeled a socialist and a marxist when in reality, all the public option is is more money pumped into corporations.

    Interesting thread.

Your categorization appears like it applies to me.

left leaning libertarian/constitutionalist/anti- interventionist with some paleoconservative tendencies. anti-neocon

I was registered as a Republican until with George W. in office it embarrassed me into registering as an independent

Otherwise there twins), it's amazing that when he's proposing a healthcare plan that's not as right wing as that of countries like Canada, with the conservatives(are you sure that word means what you think it means?) supporting universal healthcare alongside the liberals, he is labeled a socialist and a marxist when in reality, all the public option is is more money pumped into corporations(and this refutes the previous statement how?)
You seem to have radically idiosyncratic definitions of the political right and left. From a fiscally conservative viewpoint Canadas health care is a far left.

Also why is labeling someone socialist bad? One of the worlds strongest economys(EU) is socialist.

I didn't say that, I said that the citizens of the USA label him as a Marxist and a Socialist, which is, in their minds, bad.

In regards to Canada, I'm saying the USA is so far right both socially and fiscally, something like universal healthcare, which isn't a very controversial topic in moderate-left countries like Canada, is subject to heated debate.

I know what you mean. I was raised very conservative/Christian. Now, I am fairly moderate and open-minded. Probably leaning more liberally than conservatively but it really just depends on the subject. And I agree, its nice to be able to understand a bit the very conservative view without necessarily having to believe it.

Anarchy does'nt mean to eradicate cops and hospitals, but to break the state monopoly on theses stuff. So, anarchy is more efficient. You basically reasoning like peoples in USSR who believe that without the communist government, nobody will be here to product bread.
