Which type is best with money?

INFPs are very good with it in my experience. :D
INFJs are not so good.

ISFJ or ESTJ

NONE of the Ns could come close to their extremely disciplined ways of handling money.

ISFJ definitely (but they're not the best at making it)

My ESTJ gf color codes her checkbook.

Madness.

So I'm going to say ESTJ.

Definately not me. I'm not wasteful, but I've never been good at managing money.

From what I generally hear, ISTJ is "the ultimate saver" and very good with money. It is true for me, I am very cautious, though reasonable, about how much I spend.

My sister is an ISTJ and she's so bad with money it's a disgrace. She has what I call, "the spending demon."

And you even said ESTJ before, which isn't far off from what I said, and certainly isn't far off from me. I don't think I'm extroverted enough to be officially considered one, but it's not an unlikely possibility that I could lean the other way.

no way Jose, unless you've got a Fi-driven, personal, passionate yen for accounting, I'm definitely going to give a big huge NO to INFP being the most prudent type.

I'm not especially great with money, I'm able to keep my head above water now, and I was horrible with it when I was younger (see my signature).

I would guess that one of the STJs would be...

Prudent: Acting with and showing care and thought for the future.

I'm definitely not prudent in the traditional sense. But I'm massively future aware, and not clumsy with decisions, even though I don't always play low risk. If you asked me, am I now or am I likely to be in any real trouble financially, I'd probably say no. My account will run low from time to time, but I always know the options and back ups, and I always have plans to improve future income and organisation. Like I'm constantly aware of where things stand. I don't carry debt around like most of my friends either.

My father (INTP) is one of the most prudent people I know, in the normal sense of saving, taking too much care, and analysing every decision before making it. I'm guessing INTPs are normally quite good financially, though so low risk that I couldn't see him becoming extremely rich.

Generally ISxJ, if you're talking about being thrifty.

If you're talking about investing, maybe the answer would be different.

as an additional pointer:
ESFP = least thrifty, but at least will enjoy themselves and occasionally win big at the casino.

I'm the same way. Among my friends, I'm probably right in the middle when it comes to money saved and my spending habits, and I like it that way. Too much money saved and I feel like I'm not out there enjoying life. Too little money saved and it just gets scary. Maybe it's the Si that makes us behave like this even though we're supposed to be one of the more random, spontaneous types?

Prudence always reminds me of prunes. Those really dried out ones. Can't really speak for the rest of INFJ's but I'm actually good with saving money and not spending it spontaneously. I seem to be really thrifty with small things but I also seem to be able to throw it all away when I really, really want something :holy: Then prudence is not at home.

In my experience, the best with money are:
xSTJ and ENTx

The worst:
xSFP and ENFx

My ESFP sister has got to be the most irresponsible person when it comes to money I have ever met.... My ENFx friends are pretty bad also. They are emotional spenders.

Most INFPs I personally know are actually good at managing money. They either value it enough to work hard enough to make more than enough, or they don't value it much and make do with whatever little they earn quite well. In any case, they don't have bill collectors calling.

I personally don't equate thrifty with managing money well. I just call that cheap, and obsession with sales & coupons drives me insane. Sometimes those people spend more on a lot of cheap junk than splurging on something of real value. To me, managing money well is living comfortably within your means, enjoying life, but keeping in mind the future also.

Yeah, that's me. I do get in trouble with money though, and always because I'm helping my SP family members out (terrible with money, they are). But I personally need very little in the way of money to survive.

ENTx are probably the best at making money, but not necessarily at saving.
