I would like to smoke a pipe, but mostly because I would like to be a middle-aged man in Victorian England. Or a distinguished tweed-wearing Oxford fellow circa 1938. I quite like smoking a pipe though, but it just seems too pretentious to be a young pipe-smoker in this day and age.

Ah, who gives a crap!!! Personally if it were up to me, we should have a 19th century fashion comeback - or alternatively 30s or 50s...

The fact that pipe-smoking does seem archaic is what makes it attractive IMO.

I grew up thinking cigarettes were the anti-Christ (well, not literally because I'm Muslim). My ISFJ mother and ESTP father drilled that into me. No explanations; just, dont ever do it.

Naturally, I wanted to try them as soon as I got to college. Wait, let me back up a bit. First time I tried was when I was 12. I'd picked a cigarette from an ash-tray that a guest had left at home. Lit it, coughed and coughed the whole night and chest felt like it was on fire. 2nd try as an 18yr old college student, I got nauseous and promptly put it on the backburner.

Fast-forward two years later; my two flatmates had been smoking on the balcony because they knew how I couldn't stand the smell inside the flat. I joined them one day and, completely out of character, got a cigarette off one, smoked it all and loved it. Been a light smoker on and off since then. I'll smoke 2- 3 ciggies a day for several weeks, forget to buy them and not smoke for a few months, take it up again... et al

My non-smoking dad got a USD500 small box of Cuban cigars as a present several months ago (the irony. lol). They've been lying in his bedroom past several months. Biding my time before I nab them.

I'd love to get started on smoking pipes; don't know the first thing about how to though.

i smoke around half a pack to a pack a day. I'm not very proud of it and I'd like to quit, but it's fkkkin addicting after smoking for so long. if only they legalized pot I'd be able to quit tobacco.

I think that if you want to commit suicide, you should do it quickly. Don't smoke death-sticks to turn your lungs into Cherries Jubilee, make your teeth look like Chocolate Chips, and your breath horrid. If you wanted to die slowly and over time, why not choose something less expensive and unpleasant for those around you, like abstaining from water or food?

Of course, if you like the feeling of your internal organs getting cancer and turning into Chicken Noodle Soup, do it by all means. I'm not going to stop you.

eff! now i'm fiending.

was social (secret!) smoker from 10th grade or so through end of high school. as these things tend to happen, i became a heavier smoker at 17 once i "flew the coop" for college.
last year was not an easy ride for me for a number of reasons, so i found myself going at about a pack a day.

this summer, i'm staying with my parents, and am surviving on 5-6 a week. add to that a huge increase in taxes, which has me rolling my own. not all bad, though, as we have a wonderful tobacconist in the area.

will puff on the odd cigar, and would love to affect a pipe.. that is the verb for it, no? unfortunately, i haven't found one to suit me.
