So... Does anyone here keep alpacas?

Ok, I'll admit it's probably a long shot but I thought it would be cool to talk to people with alpaca experience as I am currently campaigning (to my parents) to get some xDD I have the space to put them in and the money needed but my puppy dog eyes are, as yet, not doing the trick.

FYI: this is not just a sudden INFP whim, honest! I've wanted some for years I'm just trying again now that I'm actually earning

So, anyone got any knowledge or opinions on alpacas?
