I have been cooking lots of new recipes the past 6 weeks from a new african-themed/inspired cookbook I ordered, as I wanted flavorful healthy food (as I love ethiopian) and so much of it is gluten free.

Anyway just did this pomegranate seed rice from it, for the 2nd time, as it's delicious, and then some chicken which has the 'dark spice mix' (a blend that can store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks). Had some carrots and hummus and a salad beforehand.

Hopefully nothing for the next ten years after stuffing my face with a couple of friends at a sushi bar.

Spinach salad with cut up cherry tomatoes, chopped onions, pitted green olives, blueberries, chia seeds and then I add a dollop of plain Greek yogurt.
I then make a small side of the salad dressing which contains olive oil, red wine vinegar (there's another type of vinegar I added but I forget what its called since the label is cut off, whoops.), sea salt, black pepper, and a bit of honey.

Oh, I also had a peach & spinach smoothie. No wonder I'm getting full. I'd forgotten about that.

I've never had a peach and spinach smoothie, but that sounds kind of yum.

Cherry beer from Belgium. I don't drink beer, normally. I had some when I went to the German restaurant, and I liked that one. This one is interesting. The German one was better.

I might still try the raspberry one from Belgium, though. Maybe, another day.

Was gonna finally try using my white whole wheat flour to make some whole grain buttermilk pancakes (since waffles I made with this came out pretty good), but forgot I was out of the powdered buttermilk I need!

Ah well. Noticed before I mixed the ingredients, at least.

Making my standard egg white wrap. Whole wheat tortilla, red pepper hummus, kale, tomato with pepper, thin crunchy slice of turkey bacon, egg white, & melted nonfat cheddar. With some red grapes on the side.

Trying out these K-cups. They were cheaper than most, and the mesh is biodegradable, unlike the typical plastic k-cups.

I *really* wanted to like this coffee - I love the actual cans of this for regular coffee makers, but only the original roast.

This medium roast is far too bold for me, even with a whitener added. Makes me a bit queasy. I tried to add a little water to make it mild, but that rendered it tasteless. If anyone has any tricks for something like this, let me know.

Wish they sold the light roast kcups around here, I love this concept.
