You guys should love the Taschen Interior books. I especially like the international/ethnic touch they often offer and generally prefer a balance between cosy and minimalistic, but cozy and cluttered usually prevails *sigh*

The good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge. Neither love without knowledge, nor knowledge without love can produce a good life. - Bertrand Russell A herring's blog Johari / Nohari
One of my favorite things in the whole wide world. *gush* I spend hours on places like Apartment Therapy, Desire to Inspire, Sweet Home Style, Decor8, etc. picking out rooms I love and gathering ideas. I actually want an a moderately small space so I can clutter it up. And splash color everywhere, muwahaha! I'd find it impossible to stick to a theme, too. Bohemian, shabby chic, vintage, French, country, whatever.

I got my smile from the sunshine,
I got my tears from the rain.
I learned to dance when I saw a tiger prance,
And a peacock taught me to be vain.
A little owl in a tree so high,
He taught me how to wink my eye.
I learned to bill and coo from a turtledove,
And a grizzly bear taught me how to hug.
But the guy that lived two caves from me,
He taught me how to love.
When I buy my land, I'm buying a cheap little trailer to live in while my work-in-progress house is being built.. It will be magnificent. My plan is to have a small "tree-house feeling" hang out via a small, but inspired hobbit-style house. My mind is totally set on it.. if it costs just the same as my trailer, I'm getting it instead.. But I want to continue to build on it. Envisioned in my head right now:
Front of the house--built into a man-made hill. On the other side, maybe have a large, open windowed area.. something that could act as a green house and luxurious bath in one.
Trailer home -- converted into storage facility for half of it, the other half liveable, so I can get a change of scenery, and maybe even work out in it.
I absolutely LOVE the picture you posted of the bathtub in the ground, as well as the beds built into the wall-I could totally envision those <3 <3
My style is VERY Ikea-esque, with touches of old-world feeling. I love things that don't match, white cabinets in kitchens, and interesting things. Open fireplaces in the house, for example. I love things you just don't see in the everyday home.. I think I'll have nothing but that sort of thing in my house. :3
