There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.

This is a store but I'd convert it into a home. Love this!

Oh, I guess people have been describing their interior design aesthetics, so I might as well describe mine:

    1) I have a hard time with interior design catalogs, sometimes, because everything is so impersonal. Part of what I love about seeing people's houses, yards, apartments, etc, is seeing what those spaces say about the person. Even if a place is eye-rollingly uncreative -- e.g. "I bought literally everything from this Urban Outfitters catalog's living room page and put it into my living room, including the artwork" -- it still says that they're trying to portray a particular image. But for whatever reason, when a space is too stark, too 60's modern, too damn color-coordinated, I have a hard time with it. I can't read it. Hard to explain, sorry. But either way, personal touches in design are my favorite, especially antiques and travel souvenirs that I can tell were handed down through the family, or at least have a story behind them.

    2) I like it when rooms are a little busy, and when there's a lot to look at. It makes a place look cozier, and

    3) I love cozy spaces. I am the opposite of claustrophobic (i.e. claustrophilic?), and when a space is small and cozy, I feel enveloped in a nice warm interior design blanket. Especially when plaid and/or Pendleton blankets are involved!

    4) Plants and natural light are the best.

    So! More pix:

I love this stealth design. Looks like a stack of logs at a distance but is actually a small house.
