I read that today. Such a completely different life from one I can imagine living or wanting. A product of a totally different generation. The part about renting out caves he made and other people living in them *for years* for $25 a pop, that really caught my eye.
Now, people who want to be 'left alone' in the woods are generally considered a dangerous element (survivalists?) because they usually want to be left alone as they are paranoid or antagonistic of the government or want to create their own society (religious groups).
This man just wanted to live a peaceful existence. He was removed from any environmental, political, or religious movement. I hope he found peace and happiness when he was alive.
