I wasn't sure where to put this and "Home" seems as good a place as any.
I just found an awesome recipe to get rid of the horrible smell left by our lovely furry companions. Anyone who has cats should appreciate this immensely.
2 cups hydrogen peroxide
1 tsp liquid dish soap
1 tbsp baking soda
First things first, test a hidden area to make sure it doesn't bleach the fabric.
Spray on soiled area, let dry comlpetely, vacuum up any powdery residue left.
Make sure the area is well ventillated. I'm not sure if the combination of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda will create any harmful fumes or gases, but it's always better safe than sorry when mixing household chemicals.
I just tried this and it worked wonderfully. It's now 30 minutes later and the spot I sprayed is not dry yet, but I can't smell anything. I sprayed this on a white floral-patterned cotton-blend armchair and it even got rid of the yellow color without damaging the fabric colors.
Only make as much as you need, halfing the recipe if necessary. I don't suggest storing this for long-term use. Someone in another forum tried and she reported that her spray bottle exploded.
