They've got a sale at the store today, 3 pounds for only a buck . Tis the season for sweet potatoes. I need to learn how to preserve them though.

Sweet potatoes are awesome. Try them with butter and chili powder on top--works on sweet potato fries OR baked sweet potato. Sounds weird, but it's really yummy!

    Oh yeah.

I'll never forget the day that the grocery store had them on sale for $0.39 / pound.

I just bought some sweet potato "french fries." I can't wait to try them. Don't know why I haven't gotten around to it already!

I can eat the canned ones as long as they aren't cooked. I like the fresh ones baked, buttered, and sprinkled with brown sugar.

I planted a few in the spring and should probably try digging them up soon. The plants are very pretty and seem to have survived being overgrown with cantaloupe vines and weeds.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I love sweet potato casserole and things like that, but just the potatoes I really dislike for some reason. I just don't like them.

On a related note my mom always bakes a couple of sweet potato pies for Thanksgiving. She grows her own organic sweet potatoes too.

I love sweet potato pie! I make some for Thanksgiving as well. To me, sweet potato pie is an improved pumkin pie.
I don't like the casserole with the marshmallows on top, though. My mother-in-law makes one that's topped with pecans and brown sugar that is much better than the marshmallow topping.
I also love sweet potatoes themselves, baked, with nothing more than a touch of unsalted butter....man, I'm drooling now!
