It reminds me of something I read about elephants this summer. Scientists say the elephants are suffering stress from loss of habitat and witnessing the slaughter of others elephants and are generally becoming more aggressive, attacking villages, killing people.
That elephant thing was really sad I remember seeing that on TV.
Perhaps the monkeys' gestures and language should be studied so that the problem can be addressed in their own language and on their terms? Maybe the women should gesture back? It might be a way of establishing boundaries or something.
